Revising the GAME Plan

This course (Integrating Technology Across Content Areas) seems to have had the most impact on my thinking and planning lessons. Instead of teaching past lessons the same way, I have really been inspired (given many practical ideas) to include technology to modify my students' instruction or final product. The NETS-T goal that has motivated this: "design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity" (NETS-T).

I am still working on the goals of my original GAME plan, so at this time, I do not want to stretch myself too thin or become discouraged by setting too many goals. In order to keep working towards those goals and extend my learing, I have a few students that need to extend their learning. I am currently brainstorming and will start testing ideas for these few gifted students who are "bored" with current lessons. This will stretch all of us as learners, as well as excite them about learning.

  1. Jenelle,
I feel the same way. I love the course that really help open our eyes! I have started to re-do many of my lesson and I can't wait to modify my USI course next semester! I think the most learning comes from courses like this one!!!

  2. Hi Jenelle,
Great post! I agree that this class has really done a nice job in sparking an already pretty big interest in technology in the classroom. With the lesson creation and discussion of the social networking and practical examples of how to utilize technology more efficiently, I like you have been trying to find ways in which to further incorporate technology. For the last two years I have been stuck on just doing videos for about everything; last year I added in blogging; this year I will be adding in Wiki's. Although it seems like a slow pace of adding one thing a year, it gives me time to really understand the technology as well as giving the students time to get good at it, rather than just being exposed to a plethora of technology all in one year.

  3. Hi Jenelle!
It sounds like you are on the right track. I agree that it is better to take things slow and do them correctly than to do things just for the sake of doing them. Your gifted students will love having this new challenge and getting to use technology to do it.
